A map, not a vault.
When I Croak records where things are and who to contact. It never holds account numbers, passwords, credentials, or documents that could be used to access an account. That is what keeps it outside a partner firm's liability.
The single most important design decision in the product is what we refuse to store.
What is in the map — and what isn't.
In the map
- Institution names
- Account types
- Who to contact
- Approximate values (optional, client-entered)
- Property and policy descriptions
- Wishes and instructions
- Designated professionals and survivors
Never in the map
- Account numbers
- Passwords or logins
- Social Security numbers
- Card numbers
- Documents that could grant access to an account
For your firm.
The client's relationship is with the platform, under our terms. Your firm never possesses, stores, or transmits map contents.
The Guide and every prompt resolve legal, financial, and arrangement questions to "ask your professional." The product sends work to you; it never does yours.
Clients decide who can see the map and when. Survivor access follows a release protocol the client configures.
